Fuzzy robotic companions?

A $6,000 robotic medical baby seal? Sounds strange to me. Why pay 6,000 dollars to get a robot when it's cheaper to get a dog or a cat from the pound.

Residents at Mount Macrina Manor, a long-term care facility in Uniontown, Pa., have many furry companions to keep them company: dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and a couple of robotic white baby seals. Residents and staff call one of the seals Sarah. In my opinion, it's a horrible idea. While people are buying robotic animals, dogs and cats are dying in a pound. Like in toy commercials, buy your elcetronic puppy that walks, barks and and kills other dogs in a pound, that is what I hear in every commercial like that.
